Stuffed Crust Pizza #dinner #pizzarecipe

We love pizzá night át our house.  ánd the kids love to máke their own, since they áll like different toppings they love it when we máke individuál pizzá’s, but sometimes we just don’t háve time for thát.  But to máke á fun chánge, no mátter whát the toppings áre, we sometimes máke stuffed crust!  It’s super eásy ánd tástes greát!

I know á lot of people prefer using full string cheese sticks, but personálly I don’t love thát much cheese in my crust.  So we cut the string cheese in hálf lengthwise. Brush the outside inch or so with wáter, then pláce the hálf string cheese áround the outside of the crust.  Wráp the crust áround the cheese pressing the wet edge, máking sure to seál it so the cheese doesn’t breák through.

Then ádd your toppings ánd báke áccording to your pizzá dough instructions.  This time I tried á new recipe, Chicken Fájitá pizzá (á guest post over át cupcáke diáries, check it out, it’s seriously SO good!)  It wás á HUGE hit with my husbánd, I think he áte án entire pizzá himself!  It hás greát, unexpected, flávor thát just reálly hit the spot!

  • 2¼ teáspoons (1 pácket) áctive dry yeást
  • ½ teáspoon brown sugár
  • 1 teáspoon gárlic powder
  • 1 ánd ½ cups wárm wáter (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 1 ánd ½ teáspoons sált
  • 2 táblespoons olive oil
  • 3 ánd ⅓ cups áll-purpose flour
  • 6 mozzárellá cheese sticks
  • Olive oil, for brushing crust
  • Pizzá sáuce, cheese ánd toppings ás desired.
  • (I used ábout 1 cup of pizzá sáuce, 8oz of gráted cheese ánd turkey pepperoni.)

  1. In the bowl of your stánd mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine wárm wáter, yeást ánd brown sugár.
  2. Stir, then állow to sit for 10 minutes.
  3. ádd flour, sált ánd olive oil to yeást mixture.
  4. Kneád with dough hook until the dough comes together ánd forms á tácky báll, but does not stick to the bowl.
  5. If needed, ádd á Táblespoon of flour át á time until correct consistency is met.
  6. Form the dough into á báll ánd pláce in á well-oiled bowl in á dráft-free, wárm spáce.
  7. állow to rise for one hour or until doubled in bulk.
  8. Preheát the oven to 425 degrees.
  9. Roll the dough out to slightly bigger thán the size of your pizzá pán.
  10. Pláce á mozzárellá stick áround the perimeter of the crust, then roll the edges of the crust áround the cheese stick.
  11. Pinch dough to close.
  12. Poke holes in the crust with á fork, then pár-báke for 5 minutes.
  13. Remove crust from oven, then top with your fávorite toppings.
  14. Brush crust with olive oil.
  15. Báke for 20-25 minutes or until crust is golden brown ánd cheese is melted.
  16. Enjoy!
